Everybody wants to get a massage, however not everybody’s comfortable giving a massage to somebody. The possibility of causing hurt to someone is one reason. You may also feel intimidated or terrified that the person you’re massaging may not like what you are doing. But giving a good massage to your special someone doesn’t have to be an intimidating experience. Below are a few tips on how to give an impressive back massage.

It is important that the person you’re massaging is at ease while lying down. The surface on which he or she is lying down must be firm but soft. Then start with a few simple rubbing. Using the entire flat side of your hands, slowly rub up from the lower back area toward the neck. Put some pressure into this but avoid using full massage pressure yet. Begin at the base of the back and then move your hands up, along both sides of the spinal column toward the neck then move across the shoulders and work your way back down the back. As you keep on doing this, make your loops smaller and smaller so that you are certain to cover all areas of the back.

Using the heels of your hands offers you a great way to offer terrific and pointed pressure. Using the heels of your palms to apply pressure, start working in small circles at the base of the back on either side of the backbone and then work those small circles out toward the person’s sides, up a little bit and then back across to the backbone and upward until you have massaged the whole back.

Try sitting on one of the sides of the person you are massaging. Then, with your one hand on top of your other hand, thrust into the back using your fingers. Get start at the spinal column and push steadily and with firm pressure across the back away from the spinal column and then lightly sort of slide your hands back across the back toward the spinal column and move up. Repeat as you work your way up the back and then repeat on the other side.

Rub the spinal column. Starting with the base of the spinal column, work your way up each of the sausage like muscular tissues on either side of the spine by rubbing in little circles with a couple of fingers or your thumbs. Work up a bit of friction in each node by massaging each one at least five times. Rub all the way up one side of the spine and then massage the other side.

It is important also to relax the person repeatedly between each part of the massage that you are giving. This means that after using the heels of your hands for specific applied pressure, you should go back to the rub you used at the beginning for several minutes.
