What are HydraFacials?
A HydraFacial is similar to a microdermabrasion. It resurfaces the skin using high water pressure and gentle extraction methods. Traditional microdermabrasion uses tiny crystals and abrasive materials to remove dead skin and blocked pores. However, it can irritate sensitive, acne-prone or delicate skin. HydraFacials work in the same way. But with much less aggression and more dramatic results.
How Do HydraFacials Work?
HydraFacials are a three-step process performed by a licensed esthetician. Using a mechanized magic wand with alternating heads. The three steps are:
Deep Cleansing and Exfoliating
Built-up dirt and oil are removed from the pores using a powerful vacuum-like wand head. It simultaneously works on the epidermal and dermal layers removing dead and dry skin cells using a series of chemical exfoliants such as lactic acid, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid.
Skin Extraction
The second step removes lingering, stubborn dirt and oil from clogged and blocked pores. Finally, your skin is fully prepped and ready to receive maximum benefits from the facial.
Skin Hydration
After properly cleansing your skin, it is ready for the final step of the HydraFacial. A hydrating serum (typically hyaluronic acid and peptides) is applied to the skin using a pen-like attachment head. This treatment leaves your skin feeling moisturized through multiple dermal layers and looking like a million dollars.
Immediately after the HydraFacial, most people notice brighter, more radiant skin. There will be no signs of irritation, redness, or peeling often seen with other skin treatments. There are no aftercare steps once your facial is finished, although it is recommended you do not use exfoliants on your skin for at least a week or two.
